About Us

Radar Maker was founded in 2006 by Aubrey Robinson as a company specialising in new media with a focus on education and development issues.

Aubrey, son of the former president of Ireland Mary Robinson, studied at the Rhode Island School of Design before moving to South Africa, where he co-founded Mamelani Projects, a grassroots organisation promoting community health and youth development.

Working as a coordinator in some of the poorest areas of the Western Cape brought home the harsh realities facing communities on the ground. He returned to Ireland with a former colleague to launch Radar Maker specifically for schools and NGOs, and to create a platform for future work in South Africa.

Since then, the company has shifted focus to general web design while initiating projects such as My Future, a career guidance software package for South African schools, and Expatiate, a “work in progress” social networking platform for grassroots organisations.

Aubrey is joined by a small team with over 12 years experience in design and programming.
